Through circumstances I still don’t fully understand, I’ve recently become connected with the firm of Timbers & Co., and their efforts to document the activity in the Forgotten Realms (what most commoners would recognize as the TTRPG Dungeons & Dragons).

I don’t know why they’re using music for their method of documentation, and I’m afraid to ask too many prying questions. For now, I simply follow their directions, which started with a project concerning the matter of The Web, the Mine, and the Magic (LMoP IYKYK). This was followed more recently by The Dark Stone Crisis (TSO IYKYK), only elevating my concerns.

My goal with this album was to capture the immediacy of video game soundtracks, the vibe-setting of bands like Khruangbin, and the utility of compositions like Peter and The Wolf, distilling them into an album that aids in immersion while maintaining ease of use.
